At an isolated base in the Antarctic, a team of scientists comes across a deadly alien existence, which has the ability to understand and perfectly imitate its host-body. In order to escape, they need to identify who among them is going to be the next one to hide in him the mysterious threat.
Three decades after the film «The Thing from Another World», Carpenter too decided to confront John Campbell Jr.’ s novel «Who Goes There». He ended up delivering much more than a mere remake of a film which determined his childhood.
«The Thing» is a monumental blend of scientific fiction and horror which honors in an ideal way thrills like this one that were offered open-handedly in the 50s.
Skillfully claustrophobic and equipped with a series of highly effective horror effects, Carpenter’s cult creation continues to preserve its dynamic pure while blatantly ignoring the passing of the time. Exactly like the famous «threat» which is argued, which can do nothing else than patiently wait for its next victims.
