In the middle of the 19th century, a psychologically fragile governess believes that the two young children whose care she has undertaken are haunted by the ghosts of two corrupted adults.
Clayton chooses to follow the path of suggestive horror, devout ambiance, the operational use of décor and the genius ambiguous in anything that involves the motives and gestures of the characters. Clayton transforms Henry James’ «The Turn of the Screw» into a mystical work of utmost chill and gothic darkness, a true lesson of submission.
