We are of course talking about «One Deadly Summer» (1983) where a story of mystery, obsession, misunderstandings and escalating madness unfolds as the 19-year-old Eliane moves to a town in the south of France with her family and stirs up the local community with her overflowing sexuality. Unsurprisingly, Jean Becker’s film, which turns thirty this year, was a remarkable box-office success in France and gave its heroine a César award.

We wish to thank Ellen Schafer and Société Nouvelle de Cinématographie (SNC) for supporting the festival and granting us the film rights.
