Before Midnight

«Before Midnight» is the movie of (let’s say) our adulthood. Painful as much as redeeming, funny, extremely touching and overwhelmed by the wonderful Greek light.

Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) met in 1995 on a train, got off in Vienna and spent a magical night walking around and discussing. They knew they would probably not see each other again so they hid their love, which had just been born, under the shield of wonderful words.

Right «Before Sunrise» they promised they would meet again in six months. Will they?

Nine years later, in 2004, we found out that they didn’t meet. However, Jesse, who had turned their unfulfilled love into a novel, went to Paris on tour for his book and ran into Celine.

He is married and has a child, yet picks up right where he left off his endless conversation with Celine, releases the magic of words and just «Βefore Sunset» finds himself in her apartment. Will he miss his flight to be with her?

Another nine years go by and yes, Jesse and Celine are together. They live together, they have two daughters, they are having a holiday in the Peloponnese and of course they continue twiddling the same words that brought them together.

«Before Midnight» is the movie of (let’s say) our adulthood. Painful as much as redeeming, funny, extremely touching and overwhelmed by the wonderful Greek light.
