A Foolish Love

“A Foolish Love" follows a lonely and marginal student (Aris Retsos in the lead) and his obsession with a married woman (Betty Livanou) whom he does not know and who lives in the building across the street from his own.

As the contact between them gradually moves from Chari’s telescope onto the phone line and later onto the immense social gap between them, the director, Yorgos Panousopoulos, uses the opportunity to peep along with his hero into the westernized reality of the 80s in Athens, so drowned in the communicational dead-ends,.

More than thirty years after its release, the director’s second movie remains, because of the current grim times, a prophetic glance into modern Greece.
