The grand premiere of “Man of God” at the 11th Athens Open Air Film Festival

Distinguished guests and glamorous stars shared their luminance with the imposing space of the Byzantine And Christian Museum.

On Tuesday evening, the 11th Athens Open Air Film Festival concluded its cinematic summer journey with a glamorous and reverent screening of this season’s highly anticipated Greek film “Man of God” in the presence of the diretor, Yelena Popovic, legendary composer Zbigniew Preisner, popular Greek actors of the cast and esteemed guests form the film industry and culture. 

The audience was welcomed by the Artistic Director of the Athens Open Air Film Festival and the Athens International Film Festival, Mr Loukas Katsikas, wishing “a great journey to a promising film which we hope will fill cinemas and other cultural spaces with viewers in the coming days, venues which need our presence and support now more than ever”. He warmly thanked the Director of the Byzantine And Christian Museum, Ms Aikaterini Delaporta for the hospitality in the idyllic garden of the Museum. He also thanked the collaborators of the Athens Open Air Film Festival for once more contributing to a precious form of cultural tourism which for years has been supported and offered by the Festival, an institution in this city. 

He went on to invite the Managing Director of Feelgood Entertainment, Ms  Irini Souganidou who warmly thanked all those who supported the making of the film and welcomed onto the stage the director along with the cast members in attendance.  A Q & A session with director Yelena Popovic and film composer  Zbigniew Preisner followed the screening. 

The screening was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Mr Theocharis Theocharis, the Regional Vice Governor responsible for Culture for the region of Attica, Ms Meri Vidali, the Director of the Office of the Deputy Minister of Culture & Sports, Ms Orsia Sofri, the Chief Executive Officer at Hellenic Radio Television, Mr Giorgos Gampritsos, the Financial Director of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Mr Giorgos Karachalios, the Director of the Byzantine And Christian Museum, Ms Aikaterini Delaporta, the President of the Athens Film Society, Ms Maria Mpompola, the Senior Advisor of Lazard Group, Mr John Kynigopoulos, the Head of the Information and Promotion Sector of Parliamentary Work on the Parliament Channel, Ms Alexia Koulouri, the Managing Director of the Institute "Saint Maxim the Greek", producer and journalist, Ms Giachnaki, the actors Christos Loulis and Emily Koliandri , Nikitas Tsakiroglou and Chryssoula Diavati, Marthilia Svarna, Ieronymos Kaletsanos, Alexandros Mylonas, Michalis Mitroussis, Tonia Sotiropoulou accompanied by the singer -songwriter Kostis Maraveyas, Korina-Anna Gougouli, Manos Gavras,, set designer Eva Nathena and producer Kostas Lampropoulos, producer  Alexandros Potter, poet and theatrical writer, Titos Patrikios as well as footballer Nikos Sarganis. 

The evening was accompanied by film fan’s beer of choice, Fischer. 

The film “Man of God” will be released in cinemas on the 26th August 2021 by Feelgood Entertainment.
